Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 14 serves areas in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma from its Regional Office in St. Louis, its Subregional Office in Overland Park, and its Resident Office in Tulsa.
Leonard (Pete) Perez Named Regional Director for Region 14
Washington, D.C. – National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Acting Chairman Philip A. Miscimarra and General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced Leonard (Pete) Perez as the new Regional Director for the Agency’s Region 14 Office in St. Louis, MO. The Region 14 Office is responsible for conducting elections, investigating unfair labor practice charges, and protecting the right of workers to act collectively to improve their wages and working conditions throughout areas of Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois.
Mary Taves Named Overland Park Officer-in-Charge
Washington, D.C.-- National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Richard F. Griffin Jr. has announced the appointment of Mary G. Taves as Officer-in-Charge of the NLRB’s Subregional office in Overland Park, Kansas (Subregion 17). In her new position, Ms. Taves will assist Daniel Hubbel, Director of the NLRB’s Region 14 in St. Louis, in enforcing the National Labor Relations Act in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri and several counties in Iowa and Illinois.
