The NLRB reopened from shutdown status on November 13, 2025. Due dates to file or serve most documents were tolled during the period of the shutdown, although due dates cannot be tolled for filing and service of unfair labor practice charges, applications for awards of fees and other expenses under the Equal Access to Justice Act, and certain representation petitions. For documents where tolling applies, the terms are that for each day on which the Agency’s offices were closed for all or any portion of the day, one day is added to the time for filing or service of the document. If the new due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the new due date will be moved to the next business day. For example, if the original due date was October 7, 2025 and the shutdown lasted 43 days, the revised due date is November 19, 2025. See chart for revised due dates.

Region 29-Brooklyn Announces Results of JFK8 Amazon Ballot Count

Brooklyn, NY—Region 29 of the National Labor Relations Board completed a ballot count on April 1, 2022 in a union election involving employees at an Amazon warehouse in Staten Island, New York choosing whether or not to be represented by the Amazon Labor Union (ALU).  

The ballot count was conducted by NLRB Region 29 employees at the Brooklyn Regional office. The resultant Tally of Ballots shows the following results:

Number of votes cast for the Petitioner, ALU 

2,654 

Number of votes cast against participating labor organization  

2,131 

Number of valid votes counted 

4,785 

Number of challenged ballots  

67 

Number of valid votes counted plus challenged ballots 

4,852 

The challenged ballots are not determinative. A majority of the valid votes counted has been cast for the Petitioner, the Amazon Labor Union. The results of this count will not be certified until the Region processes any objections the parties may file. Any objections to the election are due within five business days after the preparation of the tally, which is Friday, April 8, 2022.
