This website remains available to the public but is not actively maintained during the shutdown. Accordingly, the E-Filing applications (E-Filing, Online Charge and Petition, and My Account Portal) remain available. Documents E-filed during the shutdown will be processed once normal operations resume.

Please note that due dates to file or serve most documents continue to be tolled during the period of the shutdown. However, the due dates for filing unfair labor practice charges and certain representation petitions cannot be tolled. Click here for more information.

Lapse in Federal Funding and the Impact on NLRB Website and its Operations

The National Labor Relations Board is currently closed due to a lapse in appropriated funds. Only such government activities necessary to prevent an imminent threat to the safety of human life or the protection of property may be undertaken in the absence of specific budget authority.

NLRB Offices will reopen after a funding bill is passed by Congress and signed by the President.

Click here to view the NLRB's Notice on the effect of the closure on NLRB activities (Haga clic aquí para Español), including:

  • Tolling of time for filing documents, including briefs and appeals;
  • Postponement of unfair labor practice hearings before Administrative Law Judges;
  • Postponement of representation elections and hearings; and
  • Timeliness of charges and petitions. Please note that the six-month statute of limitations remains in effect for the filing of unfair labor practice charges. Please consult the NLRB Notice for specific instructions.
