Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 20 serves areas in California, Hawaii, and Northern Mariana Islands from its Regional Office in San Francisco and Subregional Office in Honolulu.

The National Labor Relations Board, in a 3-0 decision issued on Tuesday, found that the Pacific Beach Hotel (HTH Corp.), violated the National Labor Relations Act in numerous respects--the latest episode in a 10-year effort by the Longshore Workers Union to secure a collective bargaining agreement for approximately 500 employees at the prominent Waikiki lodging.

Regional Director Joseph Frankl of NLRB Region 20 in San Francisco today approved a settlement agreement between build.com, a web-based home improvement retailer operating out of Chico, California, and a former employee whom the employer discharged after she posted comments about the company to her Facebook page.
Sacramento Car Dealer Agrees to Bargain with Machinists in NLRB Settlement
Sacramento car dealer Kuni Hubacher Motors, LLC, d/b/a Kuni Hubacher, has agreed to recognize and bargain with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Machinists Automotive Trades District Lodge 190, Machinists and Mechanics Lodge 2182, under a settlement approved today by the San Francisco Regional Office of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
