On July 23, 2013, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States signed a letter of agreement in Washington, D.C., designed to strengthen their collaborative efforts to provide Mexican workers, their employers, and Mexican business owners in the United States with information, guidance, and access to education regarding their rights and responsibilities under the National Labor Relations Act. Mexican Consulate officials joined Olivia Garcia, NLRB Regional Director of Region 21 and Mori Rubin, Regional Director of Region 31 to view the signing via a live-feed from the nation’s capitol. After the ceremony, Director Garcia and Director Rubin gave the consulate officials a brief presentation about the National Labor Relations Act and began the dialogue about how the consulates and the NLRB Regional offices can collaborate in an on-going and productive way.
