National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Peter B. Robb announced the selection of Richard J. Lussier as the new Assistant General Counsel for the Agency’s Injunction Litigation Branch in Washington, DC.

In his new position as branch chief, Mr. Lussier will manage the Injunction Litigation Branch, which coordinates the initiation and litigation of injunction proceedings under Section 10(j) and 10(l) of the Act. He succeeds Elinor L. Merberg who recently retired from the Agency. General Counsel Peter Robb said, “Richard has been a valuable member of the Injunction Litigation Branch for the last three years. I am confident he will be a strong and effective leader   continuing the branch’s work enforcing the Act,”

Mr. Lussier began his career at the NLRB in 1996 as an attorney in the Division of Advice. He was promoted to supervisory attorney in the Injunction Litigation Branch in 2017. A Connecticut native, Mr. Lussier graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1991, Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1995, and Georgetown University Law Center in 1997.

Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year.
