Region 22 Issues Complaint and Notice of Hearing Against Squire Corrugated Box Company

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued a Complaint and Notice of Hearing against Squire Corrugated Box Company on July 30, 2013.  The Employer manufacturers corrugated boxes at its location in South Plainfield, New Jersey, and its production and maintenance employees and truck drivers are represented by Production Workers Union, Local 148.  The Complaint alleges the Employer violated Section 8(a)(5) of the National Labor Relations Act by:  (1) failing and/or refusing to abide by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the parties, (2) failing to make payments to unit employees' Union pension fund, (3) failing to provide unit employees with severance pay, and (4) failing to pay unit employees owed vacation time.  A hearing on these matters is scheduled to take place before an Administrative Law Judge on September 11, 2013 at the Region 22 office.
