Region 22 Issues an Order Consolidating Cases, Consolidated Complaint and Notice of Hearing Against RJB Associates D/B/A Days Inn Hotel

Region 22 Director J. Michael Lightner issued an Order Consolidating Cases, Consolidated Complaint and Notice of Hearing against RJB Associates D/B/A Days Inn Hotel located in Newark, New Jersey on July 24, 2013.  The Complaint alleges that Days Inn Hotel violated Section 8(a)(5) of the National Labor Relations Act by implementing a new health care benefits package for bargaining unit employees, containing changes in benefits from the prior existing health care benefit package, and by increasing wage rates for newly hired bargaining unit employees without affording the employee's representative, New York Hotel and Motel Trade Council, AFL-CIO, an opportunity to bargain with the Employer with respects to this conduct and/or without first bargaining with the Union to a good-faith impasse.  A hearing in this matter is scheduled to take place before an Administrative Law Judge on September 4, 2013 at the Region 22 office.
