The National Labor Relations Board is currently in shutdown/furlough due to a lapse in appropriations. NLRB headquarters and all field offices are closed. This website remains available to the public but is not actively maintained during the shutdown. Accordingly, the E-Filing applications (E-Filing, Online Charge and Petition, and My Account Portal) remain available. Documents E-filed during the shutdown will be processed once normal operations resume.

Please note that due dates to file or serve most documents continue to be tolled during the period of the shutdown. However, the due dates for filing unfair labor practice charges and certain representation petitions cannot be tolled. Click here for more information.

Region 31 has become a partner of EMPLEO, an alliance of government agencies, consulates, and non-profit organizations in Southern California dedicated to empower the Hispanic community, especially recent immigrants, by providing education, services, and protection of their rights in the workplace. Through EMPLEO, Region 31 will work to ensure that this vulnerable work force is aware of the rights protected by the National Labor Relations Board. For more information on EMPLEO, please see the EMPLEO Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/programaempleo?_rdr.

Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year. Region 31 serves areas in California from its Regional Office in Los Angeles.
