With great sorrow, we acknowledge the passing of our former colleague, Ronald Meisburg.

Ron enjoyed a long and illustrious career as an exceptional labor lawyer and the Agency was very fortunate to have him serve with us, first as a Board member in 2004, and then, two years later, as our General Counsel.

“We are saddened by the news of Ron’s death,” said Chairman Lauren McFerran. “He was a dedicated public servant with a love for this Agency. He will be missed, but his impact on the Agency will always be remembered.”

“We extend our deepest sympathies to Ron’s family. Ron was a committed, thoughtful, and amiable General Counsel, and I know first-hand that he cared deeply about Agency staff, our statute, and the public we serve,” said General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo.

Ron is survived by his wife, stepdaughter, sister, and nephew, as well as many cousins, extended family, friends, and colleagues. His obituary can be viewed here: Ronald Meisburg Obituary - Arlington, VA (dignitymemorial.com).

Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year.
