Jason Knepp Named Assistant to the Regional Director of Region 7-Detroit
Today, the National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer A. Abruzzo announces the appointment of Jason Knepp as the Assistant to the Regional Director of the NLRB’s Regional office in Detroit, Michigan (Region 7). In his new position, Mr. Knepp will assist Regional Director Elizabeth K. Kerwin in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in Michigan’s lower peninsula and the eastern portion of the upper peninsula.
A native of Lansing, Michigan, Mr. Knepp studied at Michigan State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a focus on Political Science and Economics. Mr. Knepp then studied at Wayne State University, earning a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations. Mr. Knepp began his career as a Field Examiner in the NLRB’s Detroit office in 2003 and was promoted to Supervisory Field Examiner in 2014.
Established in 1935, the National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve wages, benefits and working conditions. The NLRB conducts hundreds of workplace elections and investigates thousands of unfair labor practice charges each year.
