The National Labor Relations Board is currently in shutdown/furlough due to a lapse in appropriations. NLRB headquarters and all field offices are closed. This website remains available to the public but is not actively maintained during the shutdown. Allen Binstock Named Regional Director for NLRB's Cleveland Office

National Labor Relations Board Chairman Mark Gaston Pearce and General Counsel Richard F. Griffin, Jr. announced the appointment of Allen Binstock as Regional Director in the Cleveland Regional Office (Region 8).  Mr. Binstock  will be responsible for the enforcement of the nation’s primary labor law covering private sector employees in most of Northern Ohio. 
Mr. Binstock has spent his entire career at the Cleveland office.  He began working for the Agency as a Field Attorney in 1979.  He was promoted to the positions of Supervisory Attorney in 2005, Deputy Regional Attorney in 2007, and Regional Attorney in 2012.   
Mr. Binstock received his undergraduate degree in 1969 from Case Western Reserve University where he earned an A.B. degree in history and received Phi Beta Kappa honors.  In1971, he received a Masters degree in history from the University of Wisconsin.  He earned a J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut Law School in 1979.  Mr. Binstock is admitted to the Bar in Connecticut. 
The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation and it investigates and remedies unfair labor practices.
