Judge Cotilla Eitzen was appointed in September 2026. She has served the federal government throughout her legal career, beginning with her summer breaks during law school in 2001 and 2002, at the Federal Trade Commission (Bureau of Consumer Protection) and the United States Department of Justice (Civil Division, Appellate). She was a field attorney at the NLRB’s Region 5 office from 2003 to 2026. In that role, she investigated unfair labor practice charge allegations, worked on representation cases, served as counsel to the NLRB General Counsel at unfair labor practice trials and related court proceedings, and trained and mentored new field attorneys in litigation assignments. Judge Cotilla Eitzen received her Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Communication in 2000, and her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003.
