Office Information

Regional Director

Welcome to Region 16 of the National Labor Relations Board. We conduct elections, investigate charges of unfair labor practices, and protect the rights of workers to act together, serving the state of Texas from our main office in Fort Worth and resident offices in Houston and San Antonio. If you have questions or wish to file a charge or petition for election, please visit one of our offices or call and ask for the Information Officer on duty. We can arrange to have someone speak with you in the language of your choice. We are also happy to provide speakers and materials to promote a greater understanding of the National Labor Relations Act.

NLRB San Antonio Resident Office to Close on Friday, April 28, 2017 during the Annual Battle of the Flowers Day Parade

Date: April 21, 2017

In light of street closures surrounding the Federal building and the building’s closure to the public on Friday, April 28, 2017, due to the City of San Antonio’s Battle of the Flowers Day Parade, the Agency’s San Antonio Resident Office will not be open to the public on this day.

The Resident Office will be unable to receive mail or other deliveries on Friday, April 28, 2017.

Members of the public and parties to pending cases may fax documents to the San Antonio Resident Office at (210) 472-6143 or to the Fort Worth Regional Office at (817) 978-2928.  Individuals, labor organizations or employers who wish to file new unfair labor practice charges or representation petitions, or who are submitting documents in open cases, are strongly encouraged to use the Agency’s e-filing system.  Instructions for using the e-filing system and other general information about the NLRB can be found on the Agency’s website at www.nlrb.gov.

Board agents will be in contact with parties to their cases in advance of Parade day and advise them of their availability on the day of the parade.

If a party or interested person has a question or concern regarding a case and they cannot reach the assigned Board agent, please call Ofelia Gonzalez, Assistant to the Regional Director at (682) 703-7224.

SEEKING VOLUNTARY FIELD EXAMINER INTERNS

This Regional Office participates in the NLRB’s Volunteer Field Examiners Program for undergraduate and graduate students.  The Volunteer FX interns assist in conducting unfair labor practice investigations, arranging representation elections, conducting elections and performing basic legal research. Volunteer Interns will work directly with agents and report to a supervisor who will guide them in handling case work and investigations. Interns may be briefed by senior officials from throughout the Region and Agency about the NLRB and the NLRA. Interns will be asked to produce written work products summarizing the results of investigations along with recommendations.  The Agency will work closely with participating schools to ensure class credit where permitted or desired and will provide on-the-job training as well as training on the NLRB through live and video presentations of the Agency’s Summer Intern Program and regularly scheduled Board Agent training.  Please click on the following link: Student Positions - Pathways and volunteer for more information.
