Regional Director

Welcome to Region 13 of the National Labor Relations Board. We conduct elections, investigate charges of unfair labor practices, and protect the rights of workers to act together, serving parts of Illinois and Indiana from our office in downtown Chicago. If you have questions or wish to file a charge or petition for election, please visit our office or call and ask for the Information Officer on duty. We can arrange to have someone speak with you in the language of your choice. We are also happy to provide speakers and materials to promote a greater understanding of the National Labor Relations Act.

News From the Region

The Chicago Regional Office of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is strengthening its collaborative efforts with two local entities, the Chicago Commission on Human Relations and the Illinois Department of Labor.  Earlier this month, NLRB Regional Director Peter Sung Ohr and Mona Noriega, Chairman and Commissioner of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NLRB’s Chicago Regional Office and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations. A similar MOU was signed in March by Regional Director Ohr and Joseph Costigan, the Director

On April 18, 2014, the Regional Director of the Chicago Office of the National Labor Relations Board, Peter Sung Ohr, and the Chairman and Commissioner of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, Mona Noriega, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between the Chicago Regional Office of the NLRB and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.

Regional Director, Peter Sung Ohr, has issued a Decision in 13-RC-121359 finding the Grant-in-aid scholarship football players are employees under the NLRA and has directed an election to take place.

The parties have until April 9, 2014 to file with the Board in Washington, D.C. a Request for Review of the Decision.
