Belinda Bennett Appointed Resident Officer in NLRB's Birmingham Resident Office

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon today announced the appointment of Belinda Bennett as Resident Officer of the NLRB’s Birmingham Resident Office (Region 10). Ms. Bennett, a career agency employee with 30 years of service as a field examiner, will assist Regional Director Claude Harrell in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in portions of Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
In May, 1980, Ms. Bennett started her career with the NLRB as a co-op student in the New Orleans Regional Office (Region 15). In October, 1982, upon her graduation from the University of Southern Mississippi, Ms. Bennett accepted a full-time Field Examiner position in the Birmingham Resident Office and has continued serving in the Birmingham office.
The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
