University of Alabama at Birmingham - NLRB and Leadership: Power and Negotiation

On November 15, 2012, Birmingham Field Examiner Lanita Cravey gave a presentation to an undergraduate human resources business class titled: NLRB and Leadership: Power & Negotiation.  The class was comprised of 50 students, a large number of which are preparing to enter the workforce as Human Resource professionals.  Students were given an overview of the NLRB, its mission and functions via power point presentation.  Ms. Cravey discussed the breakdown of the administrative hierarchy of the NLRB, how the Region investigates and resolves ULP’s, and how it processes representation petitions.  She also discussed how negotiations play a significant role in the duties of a NLRB Field Examiner.
