Event Date:
05/15/2012 - 2:07pm

On May 15, 2012, Regional staff and managers met with practitioners of the Bar at a lunch meeting held under the auspices of the Committee on Practice and Procedure Before the NLRB, ABA Labor and Employment Section.  As part of a previously-announced pilot program, which was effective May 1, 2012, former Region 11 is now functioning as Subregion 11, Region 10, in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Atlanta, GA.  The P and P meeting was an opportunity for Regional managers to discuss details of the pilot program and to answer questions and concerns.  Over thirty practitioners and representatives from three states were in attendance.

As discussed at the meeting, the management structure of combined Region 10/Subregion 11 has Chip Harrell, who is based in Atlanta, at the helm as Regional Director.  Jane North continues as the top manager of what is now Subregion 11, which has the same geographic boundaries as former Region 11, and Lisa Shearin will continue to serve as Deputy Regional Attorney for Subregion 11.  Nancy Wilson is currently serving as Acting Assistant to the Regional Director for Region 10, and in that capacity will be responsible for compliance and representation case matters at all three locations with the Region.  She will also be the top manager responsible for the Birmingham Resident Office, which has historically been a part of Region 10.

Following an informal luncheon and a “meet and greet” session, Harrell and his management team responded to questions concerning the practical implications of conducting business in Subregion 11 under the pilot merger.  Harrell advised the group that he has an open door policy and invited them to contact him, or his management team, with questions or concerns.
