Outreach
On April 5, 2012, Field Attorney Sue Fernandez spoke to Professor Denhoff's students at a labor economics class at the University of Findlay, The class lasted from 6 to 9 PM, and was attended by about 20 students and several faculty members. Sue gave a power point presentation that covered unfair labor practices, representation procedure, and the organization of the Board and the Field offices. She also added to the power point by lecturing on certain aspects of the Act and the work of field office employees in enforcing the Act. Sue created a hypothetical fact pattern for the students regarding the events that may occur during a union organizing campaign. The students were engaged in discussion about the hypothetical to illustrate a fact pattern as it would apply to the NLRA law and procedures. A Q & A period concluded the presentation.
