53rd Biennial Convention, Arizona AFL-CIO

On Sunday, October 1, 2011, Field Attorney Sandra L. Lyons made a presentation to approximately 75 attendees of the 53rd Biennial Convention, Arizona AFL-CIO, on the topic of "NLRB Procedures and Case Updates" at the Wyndham Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, Ms. Lyons presented an overview of employees' Section 7 rights; described standard Board policies regarding the filing, investigation, and processing of unfair labor practice charges and representation petitions; discussed process and practices involved in the Region's investigation of charges, as well as the typical procedures involved in the processing of petitions, including in terms of possible hearings, stipulated election agreements and objections; gave an overview of recent Board decisions, and provided information on the Board's recently announced posting requirements.  Ms. Lyons spoke with the attendees for approximately an hour, followed by an additional half hour of questions and answers.
